Modern Art Oxford works in partnership with a range of organisations to increase opportunities for participation in the contemporary visual arts.

Over the next three years, thanks to funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we will be continuing and expanding the Art in Rose Hill programme, which launched with a pilot programme last year. The programme will include an expanded version of last year's popular Street Lights project. Artists Katy Beinart and Jo Huyg, who lives in Rose Hill, will be working with families and young people in Rose Hill to create unique Christmas lights, based on participants’ hobbies and interests, to be displayed on people’s houses, the Community Centre, and Rose Hill Primary School.

This years ‘lighting up’ event will be held on 6 December 2008. Meet at the Oval in Rose Hill at 5pm.

On 28 November join us from 5pm at Modern Art Oxford for the switching-on of the Gallery's own light, as part of the city-wide Winter Light celebrations.
