DANIEL BUREN
INTERVENTION II, works in situ
4 November 2006 to 28 January - FREE ADMISSION
Daniel Buren is one of France's leading contemporary artists. Since 1965, when he first began working with what has become his signature motif of alternating white and coloured stripes of equal and of non-variable sizes, Buren has created dramatic and thought-provoking interventions in museums and public spaces across the world. Buren revisits Modern Art Oxford's gallery spaces, where he first exhibited in 1973, to create a new and compelling series of works.
Intervention II, works in situ, is part of Paris Calling, a season of contemporary art from France taking place in galleries, museums and art centres in and around London in Autumn 2006.
