FINE ART DEPARTMENT
OBSESSIONS8 – 16 March 2008
OBsessions, ‘Oxford Brookes Sessions’ showcases the best emerging talent in Fine Art at Brookes, alongside more established artists who have recently graduated from the university.
OBsessions celebrates the exploration, freedom, and a personal response to contemporary art and life that form the basis of Fine Art studies at Brookes.
In collaboration with the staff of Modern Art Oxford, students brought together more than 60 diverse works, which include a woman in a wardrobe, a life-size centaur, paint propelled by sound waves and hoops bowling through the streets of Oxford.

THE RUSKIN SCHOOL OF DRAWING AND FINE ART,
UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
BOX LADDER23 February – 2 March 2008
As part of the programme celebrating art in Oxford, students from all three years of The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art will engage in an act of gallery piracy as they take over Modern Art Oxford for a week-long event.
Interested in re-addressing the function and geography of the gallery space, BOX LADDER will provide the trajectory from which numerous events will spring. A platform for film screenings, speakers, music, and publications, Modern Art Oxford will be reworked into a site that straddles the definitions of library, cinema, concert hall and gallery.
