TIM MARLOW ON…MODERN ART OXFORD
Tuesday 21 November, 7.15pm on Five
Renowned arts presenter and broadcaster Tim Marlow goes behind the scenes at Modern Art Oxford in a new documentary that aims to give an insight into the day-to-day workings of a contemporary art gallery.
Tim Marlow interviews two international contemporary artists, Black American painter Kerry James Marshall and eminent French artist Daniel Buren as their exhibitions are installed and opened to the public. The documentary, filmed as part of Fivearts Cities, also includes interviews with Director of Modern Art Oxford, Andrew Nairne and Senior Curator, Suzanne Cotter and shows special events and activities at the Gallery over the last six months.
Robert Marshall, Development Officer at Arts Council England, South East said, 'Fivearts Cities has provided this wonderful opportunity for people to see what happens behind the scenes of one of the country's leading contemporary art galleries and also to listen to the exhibiting artists talk about their work and their lives.’
Fivearts Cities is a partnership between Five and Arts Council England, designed to bring art to new audiences and encourage as many people as possible to become involved in arts activities. Modern Art Oxford is also working with Fivearts Cities on a programme of off-air activities at the Gallery and other arts venues in Oxford in which everyone can take part.
