Modern Art Oxford is seeking an exceptional individual to work as part of the Commercial team.
As Modern Art Oxford approaches its 50th Anniversary in 2016 the gallery is seeking to develop and embed its already successful retail offer, and fully exploit the opportunities offered by an exciting artistic programme including international artists such as Barbara Kruger and Stuart Brisley, and a William Morris/Andy Warhol show curated by Jeremy Deller.
The Retail Manager position is a new hands-on role in Modern Art Oxford’s commercial operations requiring expertise and experience in sourcing, developing, buying and selling products that enhance the contemporary cultural offer of the gallery. Situated in the gallery shop, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets by maximizing income through onsite shop sales and through MAO’s online store.
The successful candidate will be an experienced retail professional who has worked at management level for at least three years. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of design-led merchandise, be profit driven, have experience of working with artists and designers, and be skilled in merchandise display and sales.
