Notes for Teachers
Over recent months we have been developing a new programme of activities for teachers, students and families.
To launch this programme, we would like to invite teachers to attend a special evening event for teachers on Wednesday 17 September 2014, 6 – 8pm.

Please book a place by emailing programme@modernartoxford.org.uk with the subject heading ‘Teachers’ Evening Wednesday 17 September’

The evening will include the very first opportunity to see State of Denmark - a new exhibition by the seminal British artist, Stuart Brisley exploring six decades of performance, sculpture, photography, film and painting in Brisley’s work. You can also have a complimentary drink with the Modern Art Oxford Programme Team and meet artists involved in delivering the Education Programme.

We offer free Group visits – all groups of 10 or more should be booked in advance. Please contact us  with group numbers, age, date of visit  and preferred time. We will be in touch to confirm.

To book any of the following activities please contact our information desk on 01865 722733. Please book at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit.

Exhibition Talks – We offer free introductory talks for pre-booked school, college, youth and community groups. As an Arts Award Centre we also offer bespoke talks and activities designed to help you achieve specific parts of the Arts Award.

Education Open Events – held at the beginning of each new exhibition. Art education experts provide talks and activities to help teachers plan exhibition related projects and gallery visits.

The open events provide talks, activities and education notes designed to explore approaches to engaging with our current exhibitions. A member of the Modern Art Oxford programme team will lead a gallery talk and discussion about the artist’s work. Free, booking essential
