KINO CLUB

A regular dose of moving-image culture...

KINO CLUB is a new Thursday night screening programme presenting a wide range of cinema, documentary and animation and artists’ film and video, all held in the Basement at Modern Art Oxford.

This brand new series will launch this Thursday (22 July) at 7pm with Colour Field Frames, a wide-ranging programme of films by historical and contemporary artists. Colour Field Frames looks at the myriad ways in which colour fields have been explored in such films. The work included spans from some of the earliest avant-garde films of the 1920s to contemporary digital abstraction. Links are explored between these works and certain trends in abstract painting, from constructivist aesthetics through to colour field painters.
