Adam Chodzko talks about his artistic practice in relation to the idea of provoking the ‘wrong’ relationship in culture, in order to catalyse new systems of knowledge and engagement. Amongst other works he will screen his latest video The Pickers which depicts a group of Romanian migrant workers at a UK strawberry farm who alternate their intensive strawberry picking with the editing and mediation of a 20th century film archive of British migrant hop pickers. The Pickers becomes a dream; a Romanian advertisement to British migrant workers to come to Romania.

The screening coincides with hop picking at Plot 16, our allotment in Rose Hill, as part of brook & black’s project The Fermenting Room: return of the rhizome.
