Coloureds vs ODC Drumline and Maraschino
16.07.2011 at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Two Oxford acts come together to produce an infectious, rhythm-based set that sees them pushing each other to go one louder in an interplay of brutal beats.
Electro duo Matt Mooney and Nick Brewer, better known as Coloureds formed in Oxford in early 2009. Live, the pair engage in furious laptop and sampler trickery, juggling and mixing loops of their recorded material to forge intense new variations. ODC Drumline is the live performance side of Oxford Drum Clinic, set up by ex Youthmovies drummer Graeme Murray with the plan of creating a forum for talented local drummers to play together. Live the drumline are a visual spectacle that aims to de-construct the drum kit.
Also on the bill is Maraschino, who uses samples to create 'organic' electronica. Coming from a background in jazz, improvisation remains constant in his sets, manipulating African rhythms and dubstep tempos.
This promises to be a spectacular visual and aural experience not to be missed.
