Dir. Max Ophuls, France1950, black & white. 97 minutes. Certificate PG
Set in Vienna in 1900, La Ronde is a wonderful merry-go-round of love, charting the meetings and affairs of eleven characters, including a prostitute, a soldier, a poet, an actress and a count. At the end of each encounter, one of the partners forms a liaison with another person, spinning the story on and on.
