Oxford Improvisers

31.07.2010 at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Modern Art Oxford

Join us for an evening of live acoustic music in The Yard presented by leading members of Oxford Improvisers.

Oxford Improvisers, a co-operative of professional classical and jazz musicians dedicated to the creation and performance of new improvised music, will begin with a series of specifically selected duos. These will coalesce into larger ensembles as the evening progresses. You can expect exceptional improvisation ranging from the intense and discreet through to loose driving rhythms.

The line-up for the night has been confirmed as:
Camilla Cancantata (trombone) and Nick Benda (oboe)
Dan Goren (flugelhorn) and Chris Brown (guitar)
Malcolm Atkins (violin) and Jill Elliott (octave violin)
Martin Hackett (melodica) and Stuart Chalmers (synth)
Paul Medley (clarinets)  (and Miles Doubleday voice)

Visit the Additional Resources page to listen to a recent recital at the Methodist Church in Bonn Square, organised by the Oxford Music Network featuring John Grieve and Martin Hackett, Paul Medley and Bruno Guastalla.
