The Halfway House (PG)

Dir. Basil Dearden, UK, 1944, 95 mins

The Halfway House tells the story of a group of travellers who find themselves in a remote hotel deep in the Welsh countryside. As time passes, the troubled secrets and lives of the group slowly unfold and nothing is quite as it seems. From this seemingly isolated enclave, director Basil Dearden touches upon wider issues surrounding national identity, the anxieties of war and fears of the supernatural.
