{"id":48719,"date":"2015-03-16T17:45:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-16T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/modernartoxford.org.uk\/cms\/?p=48719"},"modified":"2022-02-24T18:15:55","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T18:15:55","slug":"call-for-performance-participants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.modernartoxford.org.uk\/cms\/call-for-performance-participants\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Performance Participants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Call for Participants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of our current exhibition <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/testrunperf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>TEST RUN: Performance in Public<\/em><\/a> Modern Art Oxford are working with artist J\u00e9r\u00f4me Leuba on a new public performance in the streets of Oxford city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Performance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across two days, participants will engage in a durational public performance entitled&nbsp;<em>battlefield #95 \/ gaze<\/em>. The performance will involve participants meeting the gaze of passers by while maintaining a fixed position in the streets of Oxford city centre for the duration of the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the performance, participants will be fully briefed by the artist and gallery staff. The performance itself will be fully supervised throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u00e9r\u00f4me Leuba, born in 1970 in Geneva, is a Swiss artist who lives and works between Geneva and Berlin. He has exhibited widely in museums, galleries and art fairs worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We are looking for up to six people per day aged 18+ to take part in the performance.<\/li><li>Everyone welcome, no previous experience required.
