Ruth Asawa: Citizen of the Universe

Ruth Asawa (b.1926, Norwalk, California – d. 2013, San Francisco) described herself as a ‘citizen of the universe’ and was driven by the role of art in education, democratic life, and relationships with the natural world. This bold exhibition will showcase her exquisite suspended wire sculptures and delve into the life of this fascinating artist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Samson Kambalu: New Liberia

For his new exhibition at Modern Art Oxford Samson Kambalu (b. 1975, Malawi, Africa \u2013 lives and works in Oxford, UK) will create a powerful installation based on his search for a more enchanted world beyond the limitations of everyday life. Using colour, humour and intelligence, Kambalu will explore the power and resistance at play in the relationship between Malawi, the UK and US. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unique exhibition by Anish Kapoor (b. 1954, Mumbai \u2013 lives and works in London, UK) displays the paintings that have been an integral part of his studio practice, pushing the boundaries between sculpture and painting. This is the second time Kapoor has exhibited at Modern Art Oxford, the first being his inclusion in India: Myth and Reality <\/em>in 1982, which showed his seminal sculptural works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
