Photo by Ben Westoby<\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Mark James, is an ecologically minded artist who presents a series of environmentally themed works for <em>Adapt Transform<\/em>. <em>The Campus<\/em> (1996) is a painting described by James as an \u201cinfinite multiverse, and also an ideal,\u201d where it depicts an otherworldly scene where architecture harmoniously fuses with nature. New works <em>12 Haumeas <\/em>and IMGHaumea (both from 2022) explore innovative maritime responses to our rising sea levels, where James\u2019 own catamaran design including features such as, \u201ca large deck area for solar cells,\u201d and the potential for \u201c(ecological) travel without using fuel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/modernartoxford.org.uk\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/LR01-2STU-7980-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"A group of people standing around a large lego model of the city of Oxford. Visitors to<em> Adapt Transform<\/em> can view the work <em>Lego Flood Model <\/em>(2018), a large physical flood model of the city of Oxford. Photo by Ben Westoby<\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Oxford Brookes University BA Fine Art student, Ash Goller presents <em>Shifting towards Sharing with The Artisan Swap Shop<\/em> (2022), an inspiring project designed to reduce waste and carbon emissions during a global climate emergency. Displayed in <em>Adapt Transform<\/em> in the form of twelve hanging banners made from recycled materials, the work prompts us to think about the ways we can use our creativity to help through the sharing and reusing of materials, and the creation of a circular economy among fellow students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Environmental works like these inspire us to think, learn and act more creatively in response to the climate crisis.
