To coincide with his exhibition at Modern Art Oxford, join artist and Oxford Brookes University graduate, Freddie Davies in conversation with author, James Attlee.
Freddie Davies’ painted nocturnes explore the night as a period of fleeting isolation and reflection, and a place to take refuge. Using the Japanese craft of creating delicate earthen spheres from soil and his investigations into oriental rock philosophy, he aims to leave no stone unturned on his journey for introspection.
In this talk, Freddie Davies will discuss his practice alongside the wider subject of nocturnes with James Attlee, author of Nocturne: a Journey in Search of Moonlight.
Freddie Davies’ exhibition forms a part of Platform 2017, our annual award designed to nurture new artistic talent by selecting and exhibiting work from art school graduates from the south east of England.
