“Missing Leonard Cohen already? The good news is that he appears to have been reincarnated as a South London crooner called Matt Maltese” – The Guardian.

Matt Maltese is a 20 year old singer and writer of wry modern ballads based in South London. Lauded by BBC 6Music’s Lauren Laverne, Radio 1’s Phil Taggart, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac alongside The Guardian, The Fader, Wonderland, DIY Magazine and NME Magazine.

Matt recently supported The Maccabees on tour and has collaborated with the likes of Alex Burey and Hugo White (Maccabees), as well as gracing major festivals including Latitude and Live at Leeds. This is Matt’s first show in Oxford and will feature new visuals by artist Laura Nicholson plus live support from Water Pageant.

Water Pageant are an Oxford based boy/girl dream-folk duo who announced themselves to the world last year with their debut album Outlines, which picked up radio support from Max Reinhardt and Fiona Talkington on Radio 3’s Late Junction, and from Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6Music.

Laura Nicholson is a Reading based artist. Laura’s work is not static. It exists in the process of translation and multiplicity, not singularity and stillness. Through combining text and pictures in production, she hopes to undermine both the fetishized silence of images as well as the authority of language. Website: lauranicholsonblog.wordpress.com/
