Join us in the Piper Gallery as cellist, performance artist and composer Semay Wu takes up residence amongst Nicolas Party’s Speakers.
Hailing from Liverpool, Semay Wu’s interests lie in the space and place between articulations of gesture and the intentionality of the movement.
Following on from a Masters in Music at the Institute of Sonology and STEIM, her research links to ideas based in choreography, set design and the social aspects through which improvisation may occur. During her residency she asks the question: ‘How do we place ourselves in our space?’
There will be scheduled presentations of the work created during the residency on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February with performance artist Vanessa Grasse.
