For Film Studio the Young Women’s Music Project investigates the meaning behind the word, ‘privilege’. They do so by exploring how creativity and self-destructive behaviour can sometimes go hand in hand.
Young artists from Oxfordshire will come together to create a changing wall installation – providing a visual backdrop for the workshops, lectures and recording sessions taking place throughout the week.
The project will culminate in a new film, documenting the installation of the wall, the events and workshops. New pieces of music created by the participants will form a soundtrack to the film. Expect live sampling, lyric writing, beat making, discussions and deep thinking.
Young Women’s Music Project
Young Women’s Music Project aims to empower and liberate young women across Oxfordshire by providing an inclusive and supportive space for making music together, learning new skills, and improving confidence. The projects foster creativity through providing a platform for urban and alternative music as well as publishing visual responses to music and politics.
