Learn how to make your very own mini quilt!

This quilting workshop is organised by Together We Make and will be led by Oxford-based textile artist Jessica Ormerod.

During the session, Jessica will guide you step by step through creating an improvisational quilt using traditional hand-stitching techniques. All materials are included, so you can focus on exploring your creativity, learning something new, and connecting with others in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment.

You’ll also discover more about the history and cultural significance of quilting, as well as the techniques and traditions that have shaped this art form.

The first part of the workshop will run from 11am–12:30pm, followed by a 30-minute lunch break before coming back to finish off your mini quilts! You’re welcome to enjoy something from Modern Art Oxford’s café, where workshop participants will receive 10% off all food and drinks.

Together We Make is rooted in community and creativity. No previous experience is necessary! Whether you come solo or with friends, everyone is welcome.
