British artist Stephen Willats’ visually intense works explore the nature of interaction, communication and connection between individuals and communities. Conscious – Unconscious is the artist’s fourth exhibition at Modern Art Oxford, continuing a connection with the gallery which began in 1967. This latest exhibition examines social interaction, the influence of technology on daily life, and the way we look at and think about our surroundings.
The exhibition presents new and recent work including a large dynamic mural, an environmental data stream installation, and photographic wall-based works and a series of new drawings centering on the flow of ideas and data.
