Participant call out: Activating our Archives

Modern Art Oxford seeks participants for a project about how we represent ourselves and our communities online. Activating our Archives offers a set of free workshops with Oxford-based artist and curator Sunil Shah and will use photographs, documents, found materials and objects to revisit history through artistic expression. The project will include sharing images via social media platforms Instagram and Facebook.

“I am really excited to be working with Modern Art Oxford as Lead Artist for Activating our Archive; a project which will open a public dialogue around Akram Zaatari’s exhibition, The Script. Through this project we will ask local people to consider how their own lives and communities may be expressed through visual material both through physical and online approaches.” – Sunil Shah, Lead Artist

This project is open to anyone who has an interest in photography and photographs, telling stories with images, and documenting and talking about your life and experiences. To submit an expression of interest simply email creativelearning@modernartoxford.org.uk. Please include your name, a short description (no more than one page of A4) of how you use photography in your life today, and one image that means a lot to you, perhaps one you have shared recently on social media.
